Boyfriend, WHAT?!

One day this week after I picked Gracie up from school we had this conversation in the car on the way home:

Gracie: (giddy) I have a boyfriend.
Me: (hesitant) Oh really? What's his name?
Gracie: (giddier) Nathan. He's sooooo cute! He's sooooo cute! I want to kiss him! I want to kiss him. I do, I want to kiss him!
Me: (chest pounding) Why would you want to kiss him?!
Gracie: (even giddier and giggling) Because he's soooooo cute!
Me: (anxiety on the climb, trying to remain calm) Okay, but that doesn't mean you need to kiss him.
Gracie: (yep, giddier, still giggling) I know, but I want to kiss him!
Me: What will kissing him do?!
Gracie: I don't know, I just want to kiss him!
Me: (deep breath, heart beating faster) Gracie, the only boys you kiss is your dad and your little brother! You don't kiss boys and you don't let them kiss you until you are 18! Okay?!!!!! Remember that number, EIGHTEEN!
Gracie: (with disappointment) Awe, okay.

WHAT THE HECK?! THIS CONVERSATION DID NOT JUST HAPPEN!

Tonight"s conversation at dinner:

Me: Gracie, why don't you tell Dad about Nathan.
Gracie: (Teeny-bopper voice) My boyfriends name is Nathan. I love Nathan. He's soooo cute.
Phil: What does boyfriend mean?
Gracie: When you are my age it's a boy that's a friend. When your yours and mom's age it's your boyfriend, like you date.
Phil: Okay, good....
Gracie: (you guessed it....giddy) I love to play with him. He holds my hand and puts me against the wall and then the teacher blows the whistle.
Phil and Mandi: (Jaws dropped, hearts sunk, WHAT THE?)
Gracie: I hate when she blows the whistle!
Me: Why?
Gracie: Because I want to keep playing with him.
Phil and Mandi: (NUH UH! NO WAY!) (Trying our hardest not to burst out laughing!) Bursted out laughing!
Gracie: (Runs off, giddily embarrassed)
Me: (Chase after her and tackle her) Laughed together.

When we had a moment alone:

Me: Phil, where in the heck do you think she got that?
Phil: I don't know, maybe Disney.
Me: No more Disney!

My thoughts: LOCK DOWN! HOME SCHOOL! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I Need Your Wisdom!

Okay, so we seem to have reached yet another phase in good old parenting! :) Parker is convinced the Grinch visits our house often as well as other monsters and villains. He is afraid of going into rooms that I'm not in. I've heard of getting rid of them with a spray bottle of water that has special monster protection powers, but I think Parker would get carried away and soak EVERYTHING! Any ideas on how to fight off these bad guys without actually giving him a toy gun?! :)

Our Trip to Sedona

This last weekend we went to Sedona and stayed in Dennis and John's condo. We had so much fun! Here a some pictures from the trip.

Notice in the picture Parker is missing one of his shoes! Just as we were taking the picture he kicked his shoe off the side and down a cliff. Due to havalina and rattle snake territory the shoe has now become animal food!

A pretty view of Sedona!

Phil couldn't leave Sedona without going to the Trout Farm first!
This is Slide Rock State Park. Gracie and Parker were so brave! They both went down it!
John, Parker and Dennis

You can see how cold Gracie was by her blue lips in this picture!

Back to school!

Okay, so we are officially a family of 4 ALL going to school! I have gone back to school full time! I decided that my brain was getting way to mushy and needed some stimulation. I'm in my second week now and I am honestly loving it! My classes are all online so that will make it a lot easier than having to find time and babysitters to attend classes. It is taking some time to get a schedule so that we have time for everything, but it really has been nice to be so productive. Wish me luck! :)

Parker's First Day of Preschool!

I cannot believe Parker is in preschool! He is growing up so fast. He is in a class with 5 other boys so it should be an interesting year. :)

Camping.....

This weekend we learned to never trust a GPS! We went camping with Phil's family and on the way there we took a bit of a detour. It should have taken us 9 hours to get there, but it took us 12! We decided to go a different way than we normally go so we used our "trusty" GPS to get us there. It took us way off the path and we ended taking 3 extra hours to get there. To get back on the road that we needed to be on we had to drive through twisty mountain roads. Gracie ended up getting car sick and threw up all over herself, her car seat, the floor, the blanket, the DVD player and the food bag! Poor little girl! She was so tough though. Once we got into a town with a gas station we stopped to clean it all up. We got some pretty funny looks from people watching us clean up throw up and seeing our breaks smoking from driving down the mountain. The kids did awesome during the drive. Thank heavens! We had a ton of fun with his family. My parents came too so that was a great bonus! Here are a few pictures of the trip.

Just some interesting scenery along the way!
Now this is taking the bobble head to a whole new level!
